Dietary supplement sales are soaring across the board, but the sports nutrition category is absolutely on fire. Grand View Research valued the global sports nutrition market at USD$15.6 billion in 2019 and predicts it will more than double—to $31 billion—by 2027. While these totals also include sports-related beverages and foods, dietary supplements dwarf both in sales, commanding 80% market share last year.

Here in the U.S., numerous factors are driving demand. Most notably, with a heightened focus on health and wellness, more Americans are engaging in regular exercise. Consumers today understand that fitness is key to whole-body health, and they are increasingly using dietary supplements to support their physical pursuits.
