BENICIA, Calif.Market researchers have suggested companies look to offer multifunctional nutritional products to busy women; one company has taken the idea seriously. CytoSport Inc. recently released Evolve, a gluten-free, lactose-free, ready-to-drink protein shake developed to offer on-the-go women a nutritionally enhanced, convenient beverage.

For extra benefit, CytoSport formulated Evolve with the ingredient Tonalin® CLA from BASF, which has been shown to reduce body fat, maintain lean muscle mass and improve body composition. Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a polyunsaturated, conjugated fatty acid, found naturally in meat and dairy products.

"We were looking for a premium ingredient that would appeal to women and provide an added functional benefit," said Nikki Brown, CytoSport CMO. "Tonalin CLA is backed with research and is proven to be safe and efficacious. It not only helps enhance out shakes, but it also provides Evolve with an advantage over other beverage options."
