SPRINGFIELD, Mo.International Dehydrated Foods, Inc. (IDF) will use its new high-protein chicken powder to create a protein smoothie for sampling during SupplySide West in Las Vegas, Nov. 14-15.

The chicken powder is one of IDF's new poultry-based ingredients targeting sports nutrition and health and wellness applications. The ingredient is allergen-free, flavor-neutral and does not provide bitter or lingering aftertastes, compared to protein ingredients like soy and whey.

Our smoothies provide the nutritional and functional benefits of high quality protein as well as chondroitin and collagen, and they taste delicious," said Stephanie Lynch, vice president of marketing, sales and R&D, IDF.

In addition, the chicken powder is "a highly digestible, complete protein that naturally delivers all of the essential and nonessential amino acids," said Lynch.

Other possible applications include bars, snacks, beverages and sports nutrition applications.
