CHICAGOMGP Ingredients launched a new, lightly hydrolyzed wheat protein, Optein, as an exercise recovery and potential ergogenic aid at the IFT 2013 Expo in Chicago.

The ingredient can be used in a wide range of food and beverage applications within the consumer packaged goods industry to support muscle recovery and help reduce soreness. The wheat protein offers increases in protein, delivers higher glutamine content compared to whey and soy, is easily soluble in water, has a neutral pH, has a non-bitter flavor profile, provides functional benefits in finished products and aids in muscle recovery.
