A protein found in baker’s yeast may protect against Parkinson’s disease, according to researchers at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine. The protein Hsp104 found in yeast is able to reverse protein aggregation-a process that occurs in Parkinson’s.  Since Hsp104 is not found in mammals, researchers set out to discover if introducing Hsp104 to mammals will help with diseases related to protein aggregation.Journal of Clinical InvestigationHsp104 antagonizes α-synuclein aggregation and reduces dopaminergic degeneration in a rat model of Parkinson disease Science Daily:Preventing Protein Clumping Characteristic Of Parkinson's Disease With Baker's Yeast
