ABF Ingredients to Build Indiana Plant

LONDONABF Ingredients announced they will be expanding their PGP International company with a new facility in Evansville, Ind. Construction on the new plant will begin near the end of 2012 with the expectation that by summer 2013 the facility will be producing goods. More than $16 million has been invested in the 70,000-square-foot project.

PGP International CEO Nicolas Hanson said the Indiana location is ideal because of "...the talented pool of highly skilled potential employees with manufacturing experience," adding that the company hopes to attract graduates from nearby universities.

ABF Ingredients focuses on high-value ingredients for food and nonfood applications. It has established strong market positions in enzymes, polyols, yeast extracts, specialty lipids, emulsifiers, cereal specialties and proteins and has 36 locations worldwide. ABF Ingredients is a division of Associated British Foods comprising of a range of ingredient companies operating under their own identities and business models.
