ActiVin Brand Sold to Dry Creek Nutrition

MODESTO, Calif.--Dry Creek Nutrition Inc., a raw materialsupplier and product formulator, has acquired the ActiVin brand of grape seedextract from InterHealth Nutraceuticals. Terms of the deal, which closed April10, were not disclosed.

Dry Creek Nutrition was founded in July 2000; it currently has no otherproduct offerings, but is working on new items. Christine DeMont, director ofmarketing and sales, said the company is focusing on the scientific researchbehind ActiVin and emphasizing the brands quality. The companys releasenoted it planned to spend more than $5 million annually to fund scientificresearch at laboratories and universities to explore ActiVins antioxidantactivity, cardiovascular benefits and anti-inflammatory properties.

Dry Creek Nutrition has also reached an exclusive agreement with the Ernest& Julio Gallo Winery, from which it will source all raw materials forproduction of ActiVin. This change in sourcing will permit us to source thefreshest seed, right off of the press, DeMont said. The company has alsodeveloped several identification tests for active ingredients, and offers bothinternal lab analyses and independent assays.
