AOBO Markets Soybean Protein Peptide in Japan, Hong Kong

HONG KONG--American Oriental Bioengineering Inc. (AOBO)(OTCBB:AOBO), a nutraceutical company that uses proprietary processes forproducing soybean protein peptide more efficiently than traditional extractingtechniques, signed a letter of intent with Howa Shoji Co.Ltd. to export itssoybean products to Japan. The agreement also includes a purchase order forsoybean protein peptide tablets, soybean protein peptide beer, health beveragesand other AOBO products.

The company also announced plans to market its soybean proteinpeptide products under the AOBO brand name in the Hong Kong and Asian markets in2003. "The annual market size is approximately $200 million in HongKong," said Tony Liu, president. "We expect to capture a reasonableslice of the pie and boost our revenue in 2003."

The company intends to position its soybean protein peptideproducts as health supplements that will support the nutritional needs ofinfants, seniors, pregnant women, post-surgical patients, and patientsundergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
