Arla Debuts Lacprodan Protein at HIE Show

VIBY, DenmarkArla Food Ingredients will introduce Lacprodan® DI-7017, a 100-percent whey protein concentrate, at Health Ingredients Europe 2012. The pure whey protein concentrate is stable in ultra-high temperature (UHT) formulations at neutral pH. Arla announced the new ingredient earlier this month, and the company hopes it will help protein overcome technical challenges in ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages.
Clinical nutrition represents a huge opportunity for food and beverage manufacturers," said Peter Schouw Andersen, business development manager, Arla. "According to a recent Business Insights report, the market for RTD beverages for use in the clinical nutrition environment was worth 2 billion in US and 1.6 billion in Europe in 2011 alone."
The protein product is available in powder form for use in both pH acid and pH neutral formulations.
