SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass.Brunswick Labs now offers ORAC 5.0 and CAA (cellular antioxidant assay) benchmark data for public review.

This data set, obtained under internal fund, will provide a point of reference for customer-tested products. Along with the ORAC 5.0 data, results from the company's CAA will provide evidence of preclinical efficacy for food and nutrition products.

Brunswick Labs first introduced its ORAC test for measuring product safety and efficacy in 2012. The combination ORAC-CAA testing is useful for product research and development, formulation optimization and screening for advanced investigation.

ORAC is an in vitro measurement of antioxidant potential, specifically measuring activity against peroxyl radicals and hydroxyl radicals; however, it does not provide any in vivo information. CAAs can provide pre-clinical information about product toxicity, mechanisms of action and dose response.
