Bioavailability of Lutein Esters
FAIRFIELD, N.J.--Phyllis E. Bowen, Ph.D., R.D.,received her doctorate in nutrition from Cornell University and has been afaculty member of the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics at theUniversity of Illinois for 18 years. She has published human metabolism/functionstudies on carotenoids, lipids and vitamin E in more than 75 publications. Sheis a founding member and past chair of the Carotenoids Interaction ResearchGroup and was on the founding steering committee for the InternationalCarotenoids Society. Her current research interests include the human metabolismof carotenoids and dietary factors that produce/reduce oxidative stress.
