Cargill's Prolsse Plant Running Earlier Than Expected

MINNEAPOLIS--Cargill Soy Protein Solutionsannounced its soy protein isolate, Prolsse, is commercially availablenearly a year earlier than expected. The early release was possible becauseCargill expedited construction of its new plant due to strong initial salesinterest. "The plant was brought on-line ahead of schedule because Cargillused an innovative construction process," said Mary Thompson, worldwidevice president and general manager of Cargill Soy Protein Solutions. "Plantstart-up exceeded our expectations in both product quality and timing. Our newplant in Sidney, Ohio, is now operational and product is now commerciallyavailable."
