Cognis Preps for SupplySide West

LA GRANGE, Ill.Cognis Nutrition & Health is sponsoring several special events during SupplySide West; the ingredient supplier is the exclusive sponsor of the SupplySide West Education Program, which includes more than 40 sessions on market trends, science and regulatory issues. Cognis is also the sponsor of the Featured Speaker, Pamela Peeke, M.D., MPH, FACP, the chief medical correspondent for Discovery Health TV and a member of Oprahs O Team of medical experts. Her presentation, Transforming Health for America," will take place on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 9 to 10 a.m. and is open to all attendees. Immediately after her talk, Peeke will sign copies of her book, Fit to Live," at the Cognis booth; the free books will be available only until 11:15 a.m. on Thursday.

Cognis is also hosting a VendorWorks session, Putting Sterols at the Heart of Health Worldwide," set for Friday, Oct. 22, from 9 to 9:50 a.m.; the speakers are Todd C. Rideout, Ph.D., adjunct professor, Department of Human Nutritional Sciences Research Scientist, Richardson Centre for Functional Foods & Nutraceuticals, and Laura Troha, Cognis marketing manager for North America. Attendees will receive a white paper on phytosterol research studies, and Cooking With Heart," a cookbook of heart-healthy recipes authored by Richard Collins, M.D., The Cooking Cardiologist®.

In the exhibit hall, attendees can enjoy a Taste of Cognis" as the company highlights new products and concepts developed as part of its Newtrition" strategy.
