Cyanotech ~ BioAstin®s Stability

KAILUA-KONA, HawaiiCyanotechs scientific team, led by microalgae and carotenoid pioneer Gerry Cysewski, Ph.D., has successfully doubled the stability of BioAstin Natural Astaxanthin oleoresin by improving the antioxidant system during harvesting and processing.

Cyanotech guarantees two years of stability for its oleoresin, and in most delivery systems, an additional two to three years stability of the finished products once produced. This allows for four to five years of shelf life from the creation of the raw material until use by the end consumer. Its new Specification Sheets include an addition of mixed tocopherols (naturally sourced), which may necessitate a label change for finished products depending on the countries in which products are marketed. The improved product will begin to ship in fall of this year.
