KAILUA KONA, Hawaii—Cyanotech applauded a study on the effectiveness and potency of Hawaiian spirulina compared to California and India-sourced spirulina. An independent third-party lab tested the nutritional content in three grams of spirulina powder from Hawaii, California and India and the results identified the Cyanotech’s product Hawaiian Spirulina Pacifica as having the most vitamin A, zeaxanthin, superoxide dismutase, carotenoids, vitamin B-12, vitamin K and Iron. Spirulina is a food ingredient used to augment energy and immune response. Cyanotech Corporation produces Hawaiian Spirulina Pacifica from microalgae grown at their 90-acre facility in Hawaii.
