Cyanotech Expands Astaxanthin Production

KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii--Cyanotech Corp. is expanding its astaxanthin production capacity by approximately 60 percent to meet current and projected future demand for its NatuRose® and BioAstin® natural astaxanthin products. The increased capacity should be in place by April, and will come from the conversion of spirulina culture ponds to astaxanthin culture ponds. Cyanotech (www.cyanotech.com) noted the production expansion would increase the number of 140,000-gallon astaxanthin culture ponds from 15 to 25 while utilizing the existing processing facility.
