Testing on Cyanotechs Spirulina Pacifica performed atWright State University in Dayton, Ohio, showed the companys spirulinaingredient does not contain the neurotoxic amino acid. The testing was conductedin response to an article by Cox et al., Diverse taxa of cyanobacteriaproduce b-N-methylamino-L-Alanine, a neurotoxic amino acid, published in theApril issue of the Proceedings of the National Academyof Sciences (102:5074-5078), which suggestedcyanobacteria may contain potentially harmful BMAA.

The results of the test confirm that our Spirulina containsno trace of BMAA and we are pleased to provide this reassurance to our customersof the integrity of our products, said Gerald R.
