Deerland, Thione Create Development Partnership

KENNESAW, Ga.Deerland Enzymes partnered with Thione International Inc. to develop products applications that combine Thiones years of research in antioxidants with Deerlands expertise in multi-component enzyme blends and formulations. Additionally, Atlanta-based Thione named Dr. Theodore (Ted) Hersh chief science officer, who will work closely with Hilton Dawson, Deerlands chief technology officer, to lead the teams new product development efforts.
Dr. Hersh graduated from Harvard University with a bachelors of arts; attended medical school at Columbia University; College of Physicians and Surgeons; and completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MI, and the Boston City Hospital, Harvard Division. Dr. Hersh is a professor of medicine, emeritus, at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. For 20 years, he was chairman of Emorys Institutional Review Board for Human Investigation.

Dr. Hersh added, It is a privilege to be associated with the fine scientists and professional staff at Deerland and have the opportunity of developing new formulations at their state-of-the art-facility in Georgia. Our goal will be to develop enzyme and antioxidant compositions with significant clinical applications in order to ameliorate a persons gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms, improve digestive function and enhance nutrition. We plan to introduce various methods to educate the consumer on the benefits of the formulations.
