DSM Food Specialties Expands Reach in Europe

DELFT, NetherlandsDSM Food Specialties announced expanded business ventures in Europe. In England, Dr. Smoothie Brands developed a new product, Amino Recovery, using DSMs PeptoPro®, that can be added to any of the Dr. Smoothie fruit flavored concentrates. The carb-free recovery beverage is formulated for quick recovery following a workout or event. Meanwhile, a German manufacturer is launching a biscuit containing DSMs PreventASe ingredient in German supermarkets; the ingredient allows development of baked foods that are low in acrylamide. DSM Food Specialties also announced PreventASe was granted approval for application in heated foodstuffs in France. The approval of the dossier by the French food health safety agency (AFSSA), followed by a positive advice from the DGCCRF (Denmark), means the enzyme can now be applied as processing aid in both countries.
