SAN ANSELMO, Calif.—Ethical Naturals Inc. (ENI), a California-based ingredient supplier, introduced a range of USP (U.S. Pharmacopeia)-grade vitamin C ingredients, including both ascorbic acid and calcium ascorbate, as well as Polyphenol-C, a vitamin C blend with polyphenols. ENI’s vitamin C is certified Non-GMO by SGS, the multinational, Swiss-based certification company.

The new Polyphenol-C products contain non-GMO (genetically modified organisms) vitamin- C, blended with standardized levels of fruit polyphenols from grapes and berries from the Pacific Northwest, dried by a patented process that uses the infrared light rather than heat to protect flavor and nutritional content. This results in a rich, full, natural flavor and color, good for all supplement uses including smoothies, powered drink blends and functional foods.

“We’re very pleased to add these core ingredients to our selection of non-GMO products," said Cal Bewicke, president of Ethical Naturals. “We’re now able to offer a cost-effective way for companies to make a switch to non-GMO in their vitamin lines, and Polyphenol-C is a healthy, value added way to deliver vitamin C to supplement users.

ENI offers a full range of standardized botanical extracts, as well as proprietary and patent-pending ingredients in categories such as antioxidants, heart support, joint care and mood relaxants.
