Explosion at Corbion Facility Injures 3

KANSAS CITY, Kan.Three people were injured during an explosion in Corbion Caravan's Kansas City manufacturing facility on Dec. 6. The explosion occurred on the dry blend ingredient facility's fourth floor at 1:30 a.m., and local fire and emergency personnel responded within minutes. Two employees are receiving treatment at a local hospital; the third has been released.

Corbion Caravan said a full investigation into the explosion's cause is underway. The company expects the facility to become operational within 24 to 48 hours, but does not predict any delays for existing customers.
