MINNEAPOLIS--Hosokawa Bepex has developed aprotein particle coating process using its Turbulizer mixer that has applicationin manufacturing food products using milk and soy protein concentrates andisolates. The process involves coating the individual protein particles with afood-grade surfectant (such as lecithin) to produce a wetable powder. HosokawaBepex (www.bepex.com) also operates a pilotdevelopment plant and small-scale production facility to test capabilities andsamples.
