MILAN, ItalyIndena(www.indena.com) presented OLEASELECT, a new standardized olive fruitextract, at the 2004 Health Ingredients Europe. Oleaselect is a patented olivepulp extract from a selected Italian variety of oliveparticularly rich inpolyphenols. Verbascoside and hydroxytyrosol are among the polyphenoliccompounds, and are reported to be responsible for many of the biochemical andbiological effects of the extract. Oleaselect contains not less than 1.5 percenthydroxytyrosol and 5 percent verbascoside.
