The new ingredient offers 45 days or more of extended freshness for a range of products, including yeast-raised doughnuts, sheet cakes, cupcakes, pastries and muffins. The extended freshness capability allows for expanded retail distribution possibilities, fuller shelves for enhanced selling opportunities, reduced stales and increased sales due to an extended sales window. The longer freshness cycle also offers manufacturers more dwell time in the warehouse as well as in transit and provides higher quality through freeze-and-thaw cycles. Ultra Fresh Sweet is available in Classic, Premium and Supreme product lines and delivers the extended freshness and great taste that consumers desire.

A proprietary study shows consumers prefer their sweet good products to stay fresher for longer. Findings reveal that 90% of consumers look at the expiration dates to determine freshness and 70% use appearance, taste and texture. Findings also show that 65% of consumers would like six more days of freshness in commercial packaged productsincreasing to 78% for in-store bakery products.
