Kaneka Plans U.S. CoQ10 Plant

OSAKA, JapanKaneka Corp.announced plans to construct an $80 million coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) productionfacility in the United States. The plant will be built on a 47-acre tract inPasadena, Texas, and is scheduled to be completed in early 2006. Initialproduction capacity is estimated at 100 metric tons, with expansion likely tomeet continued customer demand. Kaneka also established a wholly ownedsubsidiary, Kaneka Nutrients, in Pasadena.

Kaneka (www.kaneka.com) also expanded production of itstrademarked KanekaQ10 from its Takasago, Japan facility. The company invested$33 million to bring annual capacity to 150 metric tons.
