QUEBECNeptune Technologies & Bioressources partnered with Rimfrost USA, substantially increasing its krill oil capacity, allowing a volume up to 800 metric tons.

"The krill oil purchased from Rimfrost will be further processed by Neptune to meet our EKO krill oil standards," said Henri Harland, president and CEO of Neptune. "We will also have the ability to produce in excess of 150 metric tons of Neptune's premium NKO® krill oil annually, upon completion of our production facility, expected before the end of the current fiscal year."

Neptune's krill production facility in Sherbrooke, Quebec, exploded in November, killing three, wounding 18 and leveling the plant. Mike Timperio, senior vice president global sales at Neptune, said the partnership strengthens the company's production capacity while its plant is still under construction.
