ST. PAUL, Minn.Protient Inc.(www.protient.com) introduced milk protein isolate (MPI) and soy protein isolate(SPI 6340), two highly concentrated ingredients produced through a proprietarywater filtration technique.
MPI is a low fat, low lactose, European Union- andKosher-certified ingredient based on skim milk. It has a clean, bland flavor;makes an excellent casein substitute; and is good for use in low carbapplications, the company said.
SPI 6340 is designed to provide maximum dispersability, anexcellent flavor profile and a clean flavor with no bitter or astringentafter-taste. According to the company, the non-genetically modified (GM)soy protein concentrates low sodium content permits a wider range offormulation possibilities as well as healthier labeling.
