ASHDOD, Israel Solbar is launching Solpro 735, a calcium-fortified isolated soy protein, designed for use in a wide range of beverage application. Solpro 735 was designed for beverage applications where calcium fortification is required, such as calcium-fortified soy beverages. The crème/off-white colored powder has a bland flavor profile and maintains low viscosity, allowing easy incorporation into dry beverage blends and other powdered drink to be reconstituted with liquids prior to consumption. It can also be used in ready-to-drink and UHT processed beverages.

Solpro 735 is an isolated soy protein with highly nutritious protein, containing an ideal balance of essential amino acids, said David Kraus, Solbars global application manager. The calcium fortification brings the calcium level of Solpro 735 to 3 percent while protein level is 80 percent. Cows milk contains typically 3 percent protein and 0.12 percent calcium. Thus formulating with Solpro 735 makes it easy to reach these typical values.

Solbar will highlight the new ingredient in various applications during the IFT Food Expo (Booth #4077). The company is also featuring its range of soy protein concentrates and soy isolates for meat, vegetarian, health food, nutritional bar, snack and beverage applications.
