NORMANDY, France--Val de Vire DIBA introduced POP--Phloridzin Oxidation Product--a 100 percent natural and hydrosoluble coloring agent, providing further solutions to the food and cosmetic industry in yellow natural water-soluble pigments. POP represents a potentially valuable new natural yellow colorant, according to the company. The POP pigment brings a brilliant yellow color for pH inferior to 5-6 (CIE shade: 10), and orange (CIE shade: -70) for pH superiors. POP is a natural apple-specific polyphenol, with a great pigmentation capacity. Furthermore, the initial substrate, phloridzin, is known as a healthy compound participating in the antioxidant capacity of apple juice.
