Vitasoy Relocates Corporate Offices, Names New CEO

AYER, Mass.--Vitasoy USA Inc. (www.vitasoy.com)is closing its corporate offices in South San Francisco and consolidating allfunctions to its Ayer, Mass., facilities effective Dec. 21. The company has alsosold its Southern California warehouse located in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., to anew distribution company, New Horizon Enterprises. Approximately 50 positionswill be eliminated between the two locations. Vitasoy's tofu and pasta plant andwarehouse facilities in South San Francisco will continue operations, and itsWest Coast sales force will remain in place under Jerry Maynard, executive vicepresident of sales and marketing.

At the same time it made the consolidation announcement, Vitasoy USAappointed Thomas Osetek as president and chief executive officer (CEO). Osetekreplaces Winson Lo, executive chairman of Vitasoy USA's parent company, VitasoyInternational Holdings, in Hong Kong; Winston Lo had served as interim CEO sincethe July departure of founder and CEO Yvonne Lo. Osetek has more than 20 yearsof management experience in the food industry, most recently at Tri ValleyGrowers and previously spending 21 years with the Dean Foods Co.
