Vitatene Recognized for Betanat Product

PALO ALTO, Calif.—Frost & Sullivan awarded Vitatene its 2006 U.S. Product Innovation of the Year award for its Betanat® brand of natural beta-carotene. Using proprietary technology, Vitatene can produce and market natural beta-carotene at a price comparable to the synthetic form. Betanat is derived from Blakeslea trispora and provides beta-carotene primarily in the alltrans form found in fruits and vegetables; the ingredient features beta-carotene crystals plus tocopherol, starch and water.
