Celadrin® AlleviatesJoint Pain

STORRS, Conn.Cetylated fattyacid topical cream (as Celadrin® by Imagenetix Inc.) helps patients with knee osteoarthritis(OA) to move more freely and with less pain, enabling them to engage in regularexercise, according to a study published in the February issue of the Journalof Strength and Conditioning Research (19, 1:115-121, 2005).

In the study, 40 patients with knee OA were randomized toreceive topical cetylated fatty acid twice daily or placebo, and were tested forimprovement in OA symptoms (including postural stability) at baseline andfollowing 30 days of treatment.

Based upon the results of the study, the researchers concluded30 days of treatment with a topical cetylated fatty acid cream improved posturalstability in patients with knee OA, presumably due to pain relief during quietstanding. They added such over-the-counter treatment may help improve theexercise trainability of people with OA.

The publication of this article is extremely significantbecause it shows that people with painful joint afflictions who use Celadrin cansuccessfully renew exercise programs without pain, said Bill Spencer, president of Imagenetix. Without exercise, these individuals are subject to ahost of health problems including obesity, to diabetes and heart disease.
