Deer Antler Company Eyeing NSF Sport Program

CHICAGONutronics Labs, which manufactures deer antler velvet supplements, has responding in writing to the banning of its Deer Antler Spray product by Major League Baseball (MLB), assuring Commissioner Bud Selig the product does not contain potentially contaminated ingredients, as charged, and the company will submit to NSF Internationals Certified for Sport® Program, which it expects to pass.

At issue is suggestions Nutronics Labs products contain methyl-testosterone and other steroids, which caused MLB to ban the Deer Antler Spray last week. MLB uses NSFs sports program to help identifiy safe supplements for use by its players. In his letter to Selig, Nutronics CEO Rick Lentini said he was sure his product would pass any tests NSF applies during the certification process.

"We commend Commissioner Selig and Major League Baseball for taking every precaution to protect athletes," Lentini said. "We intend to satisfy the entire sports world that our products are safe to use and offer incredible health benefits. We will submit an application to NSF's Certified for Sport® Program with the expectation that their testing will result in certification of our products for use by athletes.

He continued, "Our products do not contain any methyl-testosterone and are steroid free, and the tests will show this to be true. Our Deer Antler Spray products provide natural health benefits that not only help athletes, but also help people looking for natural weight loss, or help for diabetes, prostate, arthritis, a healthy immune system, healthy heart, and other concerns.
