In 2015, the market size for sports nutrition in China was $74 million, showing a 14 percent growth rate; however, this is slower than the 2012 growth rate of 19 percent. The development of sports nutrition is not seeing the same expansion due to regulatory environment as well as consumer’s lack of product knowledge.
U.S-China Health Products Association (HPA) is organizing the “China International Sports Nutrition Industry Summit 2016” on June 20 in Shanghai with sponsors GNC, NSF, TSI Group and World Health Store. The summit brings together global and domestic industry leaders to learn, share and network.
The summit is followed by China’s expo for finished health products and raw materials. HealthPlex-Nutraceutical China Expo is held simultaneously with Fi Asia-China and CPHI China from June 21 to 23 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The combined expo is host to 60,000 global visitors and approximately 3,000 booths.
Vitafoods Asia will make its return to the AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong, from Sept. 1 to 2, 2016. This year, the show offers attendees even more opportunities to make new business connections and uncover innovations with its series of new show elements and features. The sixth edition will feature more than 170 international exhibiting companies, who will present their latest offerings to upwards of 3,000 visitors from across Asia.
Similar to its Europe counterpart, Vitafoods Asia will also undergo a restructure this year in order to further strengthen its offerings to the industry. The show will cover four key sectors of the nutraceutical industry, each catering to a distinct group of exhibitors and visitors. This move stems from the organizer's aim to offer the industry more focused and targeted content across all segments. The four sectors are: ingredients and raw materials, contract manufacturing and private label, services and equipment and lastly finished products. The introduction of the different sectors at the show serves to create a specialized business environment within each sector, and is designed to facilitate business interactions at Vitafoods Asia.
