Sports drink adds sustamine

A dipeptide ingredient for hydration and energy, sustamine is now being included in Champion Nutritions' Invigorate sports drink.

Champion Nutritions Invigorate sports drink now includes Sustamine, a dipeptide ingredient for hydration and energy. Each drink contains 250 mg of Sustamine, which combines L-Alanine and L-Glutamine amino acids in an easily absorbable structure. According to Kyowa Hakko, makers of Sustamine, the ingredient enhances electrolyte and water absorption in the intestines, in addition to inhibiting muscle protein breakdown.

The global sports drink industry records about 5% of growth each year, with new products continually launching in the United Statesthe largest sports drink market.
