Vitacost Launches New Sports Nutrition Line

BOCA RATON, Fla. Vitacost, an online health-product retailer, launched a new sports nutrition line that features pre-workout formulas and branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs).  The ARO Black Series, which stands for "attack, recover and optimize," offers specially designed athletic formulas with no artificial colors, gluten or hidden ingredients.

This line of products will contain 27 SKUs to be added during the year, including ARO Lean, a line of meal replacement products.

Sports nutrition products in the U.S. accounted for $3.6 billion out of $30 billion total sales in the 2011 U.S. dietary supplement market, according to the Nutrition Business Journal. Sales made via the Internet accounted for $0.5 billion, an amount expected to grow at an 11 percent annual growth rate through 2020.
