Activin Self-Affirmed GRAS

FRESNO, Calif.The Food andDrug Administration (FDA) accepted the self-affirmed GRAS (generally recognizedas safe) status of Activin Grapeseed Extract, according to manufacturer SanJoaquin Valley Concentrates. The company submitted scientific data on productcomposition, method of manufacture and published information related toabsorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of proanthocyanidins, theactive component of grapeseed extract. The studies showed ingesting Activin hasno adverse effects at prescribed use levels in the GRAS notification (GRN000124).
