CRANBURY, N.J.Innophos Inc.'s food salts multipurpose plant in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, received an excellent food-safety rating from AIB International Inc., during a Jan. 12 to 22 audit. The rating is in accordance with the newest criteria set forth in the AIB International Consolidated Standards for Inspection of Prerequisite and Food Safety Programs.

The inspection included five major areasoperational methods and personnel practices; maintenance for food safety; cleaning practices; integrated pest management; and adequacy of prerequisite and food-safety programs.

The depth of this inspection and the stringent, new criteria used to assess the plant gives us reasons to be especially proud of our personnel and of the quality of our production, said Abraham Shabot, vice president, general manager-Latin America. We are focused on growing our food salts presence worldwide, and this audit shows the dedication and capabilities that will make it possible for us to achieve that goal.
