Albion Initiates Recall

CLEARFIELD, Utah--Albion Laboratories voluntarily initiated a Class II recall of various bulk human-grade mineral nutrition products due to contamination from pieces of wire. The products, packaged in 55-lb. drums, were recalled in 15 states and six countries, including the United Kingdom.

The affected states were Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin. The affected countries (outside the UK) were Australia, Brazil, Canada, Guatemala and Lebanon.

The products were recalled by the company on May 17. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gave public notice on June 13. The products include CalciumCitrimal, 20.4% Ca lot No. 201011; Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate Buffered Lot Nos. 200911, 200941, 200951; and Potassium Amino Acid Complex Lot No. 201231; along with 15 others.
