AMINO Partners With Research Center

FRELLSTEDT, Germany--AMINO GmbH (www.amino.de)entered a cooperative research and exchange agreement with Research CentreJlich. Under terms of the agreement, both parties will focus cooperativeresearch efforts on branched chain amino acids (leucine, valine, isoleucine),serine and tryptophan. Hermann Sahm, chairman of the Institute of Biotechnology1 at the Research Center, and Lothar Eggeling will head the project.

In exchange, AMBIO, a joint venture formed by AMINO and SABioproducts, will use the high-performance bacteria resulting from the researchfor fermentation of specific amino acids. AMINO will also sponsor research andpostdoctoral positions at Research Centre Jlich.
