DES MOINES, IowaKemin developed BactoCEASE, a propionic acid-based antimicrobial designed to protect ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products from Listeria monocytogenes. BactoCEASE offers a consistent alternative to control Listeria, reduce microbial spoilage and extend shelf life of meat and poultry products. It can be applied at a lower application rate than traditional lactates and contributes to a lower level of sodium in the finished product.
