Atlantic Smoked Salmon Recalled Over Listeria

WASHINGTONMKG Provisions, based in Miami, is recalling several brands of Atlantic smoked salmon distributed to retailers and foodservice establishments because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.
The recall involves product batch #1768 sold under three brandsUpRiver, Prestige and Legendarythat were distributed between Jan. 23 and Feb. 1, 2013 to Gold Kosher, North Miami Beach, Fla.; Sally Sherman Salads, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Boca Raton Resort & Club, Boca Fla; US Foodservice South Florida; US Foodservice Baltimore; Deer Run, Longwood, Fla.; L'Chaim, Delray Beach, Fla.; Prestige Smokehouse, Riviera Beach, Fla.; and Best Value, Miami.

In January 2013, Whole Foods Market recalled cold smoked and sliced Whole Catch Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon sold at stores in 12 states because it may contain Listeria monocytogenes. Delifish S.A. also expanded its recall of cold, smoked salmon products in 14 U.S. states and Puerto Rico over Listeria concerns.
