Bagged Salad Recall Expands Over Listeria Concerns

WASHINGTONA nationwide recall of bagged salad sold at grocery stores and foodservice establishments has been expanded because of concerns over Listeria contamination, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced today.

Retail salad products affected by the recall were distributed throughout the United States and Canada under various sizes and packaged under the brand names of River Ranch, Farm Stand, Hy-Vee, Shurfresh and The Farmers Market. Foodservice salad products under this recall were distributed throughout the United States and Canada under various sizes and packaged under the brand names of River Ranch and Sysco.

All recalled salads have either Best By" code dates between May 12, 2012, and May 29, 2012, or Julian dates of 118 and 125. A complete breakdown of salad types, brands and states the salads were distributed in can be found here.
