ATLANTAA recent article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution examined the how big beverage companies such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi view the global potential of stevia, an all-natural zero-calorie sweetener. According to beverage executives, stevia definitely holds promise; however, in order for it to reach its full potential a number of things need to happen in the market including new formulations, lower costs and an EU-wide regulatory approval.
