EAGAN, Minn.—Biothera, the manufacturer of Wellmune WGP, a natural immune booster for foods, beverages and supplements, announced that Naturalendo Tech Co. Ltd. will be the exclusive distribution partner in South Korea following Naturalendo’s successful effort to secure regulatory approval for Wellmune.  Naturalendo is a biotech company certified by the Korean government, founded in 2001.

Wellmune received an immune health claim and earned a Certificate of Functional Ingredient for Health/Functional Food in compliance with Article 14 and 15 of the Health Functional Food Act of the Republic of Korea from the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). Wellmune met all standards for safety and efficacy during the nearly two-year approval process.

“Achieving regulatory approval in Korea was a milestone for the Wellmune brand and a testament to the safety and efficacy of our proprietary ingredient," said Richard G. Mueller, CEO, Biothera. “With Naturalendo’s expertise and keen insights about the marketplace, we are excited about the potential for bringing a wide range of food, beverage and supplement products with Wellmune to consumers in Korea."

Wellmune is a beta 1,3/1,6 glucan derived from a proprietary strain of baker’s yeast. It has regulatory approval around the world, including GRAS (generally recognized as safe) in the United States and novel foods approval in Europe and China.
