IRVINE, Calif.ChromaDex Corp., a phytochemical reference standards and contract testing service, launched a new verification program for tea products that will provide suppliers with the assurance they need to meet product standards and a ChromaDex Verification Mark that will give consumers greater confidence in the quality of tea products.

This program encompasses nearly all aspects of tea product verification:

  • Insures the identity of the raw tea material;

  • Verifies no unwanted contaminants, such as pesticides and heavy metals are present; and

  • Confirms the amount of catechin, theaflavin, xanthine alkaloids and polyphenols contained in the tea product.

Successfully completing one or all of the verification plan components allows the supplier to display the ChromaDex Verification Mark on their products and be included in a verified products list on the ChromaDex Web site.
