CERRO GORDO, Ill. Clarkson Grain Company, Inc., announced its acquisition of US Soy, a move that will help the company grow its service to the roasted soybean markets, both non-GM and organic, and expand export business in identity preserved soybeans.

Under terms of the agreement that was finalized July 16, 2012, Clarkson Grain retained the US Soy name, as well as the storage and processing facilities in Mattoon, Ill., which include a soybean receiving station and more than 1 million bushels of storage designed for identity-preserved soybean handling. The processing facilities also host cleaning and milling capabilities, as well as both dry and oil roasting lines and bag and bulk packaging systems. The additional storage and processing facilities in Mattoon will allow Clarkson additional convenient access to central Illinois growers.

Clarkson Grain supplies specialty grains, oilseed and ingredients to processors of foods and feeds. With more than 30 years of experience, it draws selected raw materials from farmers in the United States, Canada and South America.
