Costco recalls contaminated shitake mushrooms

WASHINGTON L.A. Link (Huntington Beach) Corp., based in Cerritos, Calif., is recalling dried shitake mushrooms sold at Costco Wholesale stores in Washington, Oregon and California because they may be contaminated with chemical residues carbendazim, fluoranthene, and pyrene, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced today.
The recall involves 6-ounce plastic jars of Shiitake-Ya brand Gourmet Shitake Slices with a sell by date" of 04/16/2013 because the mushrooms may be contaminated with the chemicals that are not approved on dried mushrooms.
