MANNO, Switzerland—The Council for Responsible Nutrition-International (CRN-I) has made eight translations of the abstracts from its four annual scientific symposium proceedings available for free on its website. Since 2010, CRN-I has held an annual scientific symposium every year with the proceedings published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal following the meeting. Abstracts are available in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish.
“These translations are a valuable resource for the international nutrition science and regulatory community," said James C. Griffiths, Ph.D., vice president, scientific and international affairs, CRN-I. “By providing these translations, more science and regulatory experts will have access to important science and policy discussions that affect our industry and ultimately our consumers worldwide."
The following topics were covered at the annual symposiums: "Bioactives—Qualitative Nutrient Reference Values for Life-stage Groups" (2013); "New Approaches to Nutrient Reference Values for Bioactives" (2012); "Nutrition Issues in Codex—Health Claims, Nutrient Reference Values and WTO Agreements" (2011); and "Scientific Issues Related to Codex Goals" (2010).
