Daniele International, Inc. has obtained a $33 million judgment against Wholesale Spice and Seasonings.

The problem is Daniele may have trouble collecting on the default judgment against a company that is no longer in business.

Citing the New York State Division of Corporations, The Associated Press reports Wholesale Spice and Seasonings was dissolved in April.

A federal judge granted the judgment two years after Daniele recalled more than 1.2 million pounds of meat following a Salmonella outbreak in 44 states that sickened more than 250 people, according to the report.

In 2010, Daniele sued Wholesale Spice and Seasonings and another company, Mincing Trading Corp., claiming the recall was caused by pepper.

The AP notes the case against Mincing Trading is pending and that Daniele's legal team is looking into whether it can collect on the judgment against Wholesale Spice and Seasonings.
